Enamelling, Pewter, Casting or Paddleboat Making Workshops

Discover more about how furnaces, fire and steam were used in the Industrial Revolution through a variety of fun, and safe, hands-on activities. Different workshops will be held on different days when families can try enamelling and pewter casting or use their imagination to create a paddleboat to sail across Enginuity’s pool. Activities vary from day-to-day and most carry an additional charge; museum admission charges apply.

Furnace, Fire and Steam- inspired activites

Join in a variety of fun furnace, fire and steam inspired events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ironbridge Gorge Museums. See various steam machines in action on different days; a highlight most Wednesday mornings will be an iron casting demonstration in the Town’s foundry.

Furnace, Fire and Steam inspired Ceramic Workshop

Visit the bottle kilns then use your creativity to scult a modelfrom air-drying clay at the furnace, fire and steam themed family workshops. Throughout the holidays you can decorate a ceramic money box, fridge magnet or paint a china flower.
